Dad's Ashes

I finally managed to follow through on my Dad's wishes...

Dad always made it clear that when he died he wanted to be with his Mum and Dad. Their grave is in a lovely Methodist Chapel in Terrington St Clement, so we made that happen today.

The vicar, a lovely chap, helped with some prayers and readings, and I read the following - which meant a lot to me and Dad.

American Pie

Don McLean

-

A long long time ago
I can still remember how
That music used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while

But February made me shiver
With every paper I'd deliver
Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step

I can't remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride
Something touched me deep inside
The day the music died

.

Overall it was a lovely morning and great to finally help Dad end up where he wanted to be. Still missing you buddy... x
